Terms of Use.

1. What Shipfolks is
Shipfolks is a directory where independent software builders create public profiles, list projects they shipped, and can be contacted by people who want to work with them. By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Shipfolks.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Shipfolks. You need a verified email address to go live. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password safe. Usernames are unique, permanent, and first come, first served. We may reclaim usernames that impersonate other people or brands, squat trademarks, or sit on deleted accounts.
3. Your content
Everything you publish (profile, bio, projects, images, messages) stays yours. By publishing it on Shipfolks you give us a non-exclusive license to display it on the site, in search, in social share images, and in previews of the site, for as long as it is published. Only list work you actually have the right to show. Projects must be real, shipped products at a permanent home: your own domain or an app-store listing; preview or demo links (for example temporary *.vercel.app or *.netlify.app URLs) may be rejected or removed.
4. Acceptable use
No impersonation, no spam or unsolicited bulk messaging, no scraping of contact data, no illegal content, no malware, no harassment. New profiles and projects may be held for review before going public. We may remove listings, restrict features, or ban accounts that break these rules, at our discretion and without notice.
5. Hiring and messaging
Contacting builders is free. Shipfolks is not a party to any work agreement between builders and the people who hire them. We do not vet, guarantee, or mediate work, payment, or outcomes between users.
6. Paid services and refunds
Some placement products (such as Boost and Featured) are paid digital services, delivered immediately. All sales are final. Because these are digital services that start immediately, no refunds are provided, whether for one-time purchases or for subscription periods already started. You can cancel a subscription at any time through the billing portal; cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund the current period. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. If a paid placement is removed because you broke these terms, no refund is provided.
7. Availability and changes
Shipfolks is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep it fast and available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change. We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. For material changes we will note the new effective date at the top of this page.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to Shipfolks is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, or lost data.
9. Termination
You can stop using Shipfolks at any time; pausing your listing hides it, and you can request account deletion via support. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms: contact support or email [email protected].
